St. Owen Street Podiatry Practice

Glenys qualified as a State Registered Chiropodist at the Salford College of Chiropody in 1974. Initially working in private practice in Berkshire, Glenys moved to Hereford in 1975 to take up a position with the NHS. She worked all over Herefordshire for a number of years and during this time met her husband John. After the birth of their children Glenys worked part-time in private practice to enable her to bring up the children. In 1996 Glenys was awarded a Diploma in Podiatric Medicine as members of the profession had now become widely known as Podiatrists. In 2001 Glenys returned to the NHS taking on more clinics in nail surgery and biomechanics. Having met Andy at around this time a search for suitable premises resulted in the opening of St Owen Street Podiatry in 2005.

Andy qualified in 2000 having obtained an honours degree in Podiatry from the Birmingham School of Podiatry. Andy was keen to experience working in both private practice and the NHS so initially began working part-time in both settings. Despite living in Coventry at the time he began working as an associate at a practice in Hereford and for the NHS in Oxfordshire. After a year or so Andy decided to concentrate on private practice, took over the small Hereford practice and began working in a multidisciplinary practice with an osteopath and physiotherapists in Leicestershire. Around this time Andy and Glenys met and began a search for premises to open a practice together. In the meantime Andy had met and married his wife Cheryl and planned to live in Herefordshire.
